Mini Projects
Witches Skull - New to Old
This is a very simple project. I drew a few designs along with rune symbols randomly around my bucky skull. Using my Dremel, I carved over the written symbols. I decided to carve the teeth a little for more of an aged look. Once everything was carved, I rubbed black paint into the carved markings with a paper towel (leaving smears of black paint over the stark white skull. I layered 2 tones of brown paint again using my paper towel to give an aged look. This was my first attempt to carve plastic with a Dremel. I will warn you it’s a bit messy, smelly and hard on your Dremel tip. But the end result is pretty cool looking….although my poor triple moon on the back came out larger (wider) than planned. Tombstone Tip
Since I don’t have trees in my yard, I decided I need more moss and dead twigs on, near and around my tombstones. One solution I came up with was to add twigs and dead grasses right in the stone securing them with my hot glue gun. This proved to work out great this October even with the high winds Lake Erie brought me this Halloween Season.

For my Peeper Tombstone seen below: I used liquid nails to secure 2 foam discs, one to the front and one to the back (since the stone did not have a base) this way I was able to add dead twigs and grasses directly to the stone. I found the Styrofoam discs at the Dollar Store 6 for a buck along with the dried grass. This is a super cheap and simple way to give an overgrown look to your yard.

Helpful Tip to save all those purchased Window and Wall Clings
Since the paper backings seem to never stay in one piece in my house, I started using this storage technique a couple of years ago. Basically when I peel the cling off the wall, window or shower tile, I stick it immediately to a plastic freezer bag. This has proven extremely useful over the past several years for easy storage as well as helping maintain their usability for another Haunt Season (as seen in below photo).

Laser Vortex
I built my own laser vortex for the 2009 Haunt Season (which really stole the show). I have to tell you, it was a HUGE success during my Halloween Party and ToT. The facial expressions, gasps and stares of awe were well worth the $30.00 to build it. Words used to express the Vortex ranged from “Cool”, “Sweet”, “That is Tight”, “Awesome”, to my personal fav “That is RAW”. Several parents came back by the house to find out how it actually worked and how they could get one after Trick or Treat was over (which was way cool). I set my Vortex up pointing from the back of my garage with red lights in opposite corners….turning one side of my garage into a Lost Souls Vortex (as seen in below photos).
